Goals for the 2008-2009 Service Year

It is my belief as Lieutenant Governor that our division will only be as strong as our weakest club. There is such a strong diversity in the division that I no one is sure how to connect with one another. Individually, our clubs can really shine, but I expect more. With the use of better communication from my self to my clubs I want to create Unity. I want each club to support each other, while still trying to exceed and do their personal best. It is my goal to rebuild my division as much as possible so that the next Lieutenant Governor will be able to reach new heights: Leaders inspire other leaders. If I can get one member from every key club to feel the true Key Club Sprit, then I am sure our division will “bring the house down.”

Reason I joined Key Club

One of my favorite events is Relay for Life. In eighth grade I was at the Farmingdale’s Relay for Life with the Early Act Club, a club inspired through Rotary (I know omg rotary) and is sponsored by SUNY Farmingdale. I asked my adviser, “how can I do this next year, I love it!” He pointed over to a tent full of laughing students and said “Join Key Club.” So as my a freshman I walked into a room of over 100 people scared out of my mind because we said a pledge and had an ice breaker. Now as Lieutenant Governor I am sure that I scared half the freshman in our division, sorry!

Goals for the 2008-2009 Service Year	As a Lieutenant Governor, one of my goals is to strengthen and unify my division. This means, improving every one of my clubs as much as possible and creating divisional projects for all the clubs to work on together. Not only do I want to achieve my goals, but I want to help the New York District reach its own as well. As District Projects Chair, I, along with the committee, will give out tips and update the board and members about the different projects so that the goal of $125,000 will not only be attained but surpassed as well.

Reason I joined Key Club	Its a funny story actually. As a freshman walking into high school, the first thing you want to do is find a group and fit in. I figured, why not join a club to meet some friends? After looking over the lists of clubs, Asian Club, Business Club, Debate Team, European Club, ... whats this? Key Club? What do they do, make keys?? A few days passed and the Key Club that year started putting up cool flyers to advertise. After attending the first meeting, I was hooked.

Reason I joined Key Club	I joined Key Club for all the wrong reasons. I joined because I wanted it for college and because at my freshmen night, the guy at the Key Club booth was cute. But it doesn't matter why I joined because I'm here now and this really is an opportunity of a lifetime! It's something that I would never trade for the world.

Goals for the 2008-2009 Service Year	My main goal for the 2008-2009 Service Year is to truly unify the clubs in Division 17. I hope to do that by increasing communication between not only myself and members, but between all of the members of the different schools. I would also like to see at least one member from each of the schools at this year's District Convention. Look forward to a great rest of the year. I know that we have it in us to live up to the high standards of the Mighty New York District!

Reason I joined Key Club	In the end of my eighth grade year, the Key Clubbers from my high school came to the middle school and gave a presentation about Key Club. They spoke about the service projects they did, the way that meetings were run, the difference that they made, and district convention. I had no prior knowledge about the club or that it was affiliated with the Builder's Club in my middle school, but from the minute those Key Clubbers started to speak about the club, I knew that I wanted to be part of it. Key Club kids were cool to me! In my case, my Key Club journey started thanks to the fabulous Public Relation skills of the club.
