The following letter advocates doing more to help the genocide situation in Darfur. It was found on www.savedarfur.org. It can be sent to President George Bush. Make sure to keep a copy of the letter you sent and the amount of signatures you get on it and attach it to your MRF! | | President George W. Bush 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW Washington, DC 20500 | ******* ******* ******* The U.N. Security Council passed Resolution 1769 authorizing deployment of a protection force to Darfur almost a year ago, and yet only a third of the authorized peacekeeping force has reached Darfur. The United States and other leading nations who supported the resolution have failed to overcome logistical obstacles to UNAMID's deployment. The international community has not provided the necessary material support to fully and effectively deploy the mission, including trucks and helicopters

This is a letter promoting support to the Sanders-Boxer Global Warming Pollution Reduction Act and the Waxman Safe Climate Act. They can be mailed to Senator Clinton and Senator Schumer. This letter was found on www.saveourenviornment.org. | Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton 76 RUSSELL SENATE OFFICE BUILDING WASHINGTON DC 20510 | | Senator Charles E. Schumer 313 HART SENATE OFFICE BUILDING WASHINGTON DC 20510 | From here, the advocacy is simple! Just print out the following letter, have anyone who is in support of it in your key club sign it, and then send it to either (or both!) of the Senators above! Don't forget to save a copy of your letter to attach to your MRF! If you do the service, don't you want the recognition? ******* ******* ******* I urge you to give your strong support to the Sanders-Boxer Global Warming Pollution Reduction Act (S. 309) and the Waxman Safe Climate Act (HR. 1590). The time for debate is over! There is a clear scientific consensus that heat-trapping emissions from human activities are causing global warming. Scientists warn that unless we act now, continued warming will bring stronger storms, rising sea levels, and more intense precipitation. While other nations have moved to tackle this challenge, the U.S., which currently produces more than one fifth of the world's global warming pollution, has fallen far behind.

Wild Deer Abuse Advocacy

The following letter is to advocate re-thinking the law allowing deer to be hunted in New York State. It was found on www.angelfire.com. It can be mailed to your the respective assemblyman to your area. The contact information can be found on http://assembly.state.ny.us/mem/ where you can type in your ZIP code and the information will come up. All you have to do is print out the letter, find your assemblyman, get some signatures, and mail it! How could it be more simple? Make sure to keep a copy of the letter to attach to your MRF! ******* ******* ******* I urge you to reverse the decision to allow deer hunting in New York. Such cruel and senseless slaughter of deer will not solve any of the problems you claim exist. It is a well-known fact that killing will not reduce the population. The figures speak for themselves: Since 1974, when the CT Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) changed the status of deer in Connecticut from "nuisance" animal to "game" animal, the state's deer population has soared from 6,000 to over 80,000 (DEP's own figures). These numbers prove that hunting is not working to decrease the deer herd in Connecticut. It's not a solution to a problem, but simply one of several "management" tools that DEP employs to create larger herds, which DEP then uses to justify sport hunting to the unsuspecting public.

Welcome Letter

Dear the Mighty New York District: Advocacy is a method of speaking out on behalf of a group who is less capable of doing so themselves. While in advocacy, people find a better connection with the causes that they are advocating. Every time someone writes a letter to protest a cause they truly make a huge difference. Each individual is promoting the strong affects and differences that a situation can have in a region, state, or even country. Advocacy is a great benefit to both the people whom we advocate for, but for the advocates themselves. It helps bring attention to a situation as well as transform those practicing advocacy into stronger, more involved citizens. This year's advocacy committee set the goal to 5,000 letters! I am very confident that our mighty district can EASILY exceed this goal, especially since advocacy can be achieved through not only snail-mail, but email as well! Many organizations, including the district charities, have pre-written letters available that can be sent out. With the help of all you Key Club members that make up our mighty district, this years advocacy records are sure to soar higher than before! If you need further explanation, or have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to contact myself, or any of the committee members. Stephanie Springer Advocacy, Chair
